How to create intimacy in large spaces where proportions cannot be changed ? A challenge brilliantly exploited in bars like the Centre Pompidou in Paris: implemented in a 900 m² hall without changing the structure as the building is a classified historical monument. The result is a space punctuated by volumes that are divide up to create private areas.
Other examples include the Karriere Bar in Copenhagen installed in former slaughterhouses, the Blue Frog in Mumbai which was once a factory hall or at the ”weekend” in Berlin, which occupies the twelfth floor of a office tower at Alexanderplat
